2009 Popcorn Info            Selling Safety Quiz            How to Sell Popcorn Flyer

We start our popcorn sale on Saturday, September 26th

Our popcorn flyer is attached which explains the times and dates of popcorn events.  Please pick up your popcorn on Saturday morning in the school parking lot between 10:30 am and 11:30.  (Volunteers are needed to sort popcorn from 9:30 – 10:30)

We give each scout an assortment of popcorn based on what has sold in previous years.  We will provide you additional popcorn at any time during the sale.  You can also order any of the larger tins that are offered.

Popcorn is distributed at the beginning of the sale because we have found that it is easier to sell if your scout has it with him.  It also saves time by not having to deliver the orders at a later date.  We do not expect parents to buy all of this popcorn!!!  Extra popcorn can be turned in at the end of the sale.  You can also turn in an order form at the end of the sale if you need more popcorn.

We encourage the scouts to do the selling!  Selling the popcorn builds the scout's sense of accomplishment and contribution to the Pack.  It is work but it should also be fun and a positive experience!

You can help your scout to be successful by helping him with his presentation.  He should introduce himself, say he is from Pack 175, and should ask if the customer would like to support his Cub Scout Pack.  We will be handing out a Trail's End Popcorn sheet with the types of popcorn that he can hand to the customer to choose from.  Whether the customer purchases popcorn or not, the scout should always say "Thank You" before leaving.  Scouts should always wear their uniform and a smile.

How to sell popcorn is up to you but my recommendation is to get out the first weekend or week door to door.  If you can catch people at home, they are very likely to support your scout.  If appropriate, you can also post a flyer at work for orders.  The “show and sells” that we set up can also be a great time to sell!  You can also set up a time with any local high traffic merchant - Lowes, Sullivan Hardware, etc.  And of course, there are always your family and friends.  This is a great time to show your pride in your new scout uniform!

Our 2009 Sale will allow the Scouts to earn  PRIZES for their popcorn sales.  Your scout will need to choose their prize when you turn in your money and sales form at the end of the sale.  The prize selection should be filled out on the bottom of the sales form. We also provide additional incentives such as the Pack 175 T-shirt, the end of popcorn sale pizza party and funding the den activities for the year.

Our scout program is made possible by the time and commitment of each and every parent and scout.  Thanks for your help and support of our 2009 Popcorn Extravaganza!
