Summer Camp

Crossroads of America Council Cub Scout and Webelos summer camps are outstanding.  Approximately 90% of our Pack 175 Scouts attend these camps.

Advance reservations are required.  The Reservation Form, Health Form, copy of your insurance card and Check are due no later than April 1, 2010.  A link to forms is at the bottom of this page.  Mr. Greg Thatcher will be coordinating the camp reservations.  Kindergarten Students also need to submit a Cub Scout Application available from Jim Kacius.

The pack has paid a deposit for our estimated number of campers.   Space is limited so get your forms in early!  $10 is added to camp fees after April 1.

What to turn in by April 1:  Completed Health Form (see link near bottom of page), Copy of your Insurance Card (both sides), Pack 175 Registration Form (see link near bottom of page), Check made out to Pack 175 for full amount of camp fees.  All camp forms and fees go to Greg Thatcher (kidmail via Samuel Thatcher in 3A)

All Parents help as Leaders/Drivers at Camp Belzer for at least one day.  Let us know which day you can help on the Registration Form.  A schedule will be assembled in May.  Parent Leaders guide our Pack 175 scouts from activity to activity, enforce good behavior, and can assist our scouts with camp councilor led activities.  It is a fun day!  Younger siblings are welcome to tag-a-long.

Camp Belzer  -  Day Camp for all Tiger Scouts, Cub Scouts and Webelos

Camp Belzer is June 14-18, 2010.  The camp cost is $95 plus an additional amount if you do the Friday Overnight (paid at camp).

Click here is see Belzer Day Camp Flyer

Belzer Day Camp includes a variety of fun daily activities led by the staff councilors. Activities include BB shooting, archery, daily swimming, rafting, crafts, cooking and other scout related programs.  Parents volunteer one day to help drive and chaperone at camp.  Pack 175 Scouts stay as a group other than Webelos Scouts, which have a separate more advanced program.

Scouts Bring:  Water Bottle, Backpack, Swim suit, towel, sack lunch, drink, rain gear, suntan & insect lotion (no aerosol cans), no open toe shoes, a few dollars for the trading post. What Scouts Wear:  Wear shorts and your Pack 175 Camp T-Shirt.  Wear older comfortable shoes (closed toe/no open toe sandals) for lots of walking.  Wear a hat to shade your head.    Do not Bring:  Knives, lighters, expensive electronics, anything that you do not want to lose, or anything that you cannot bring to school.
Parents Bring:  Their health form, pen, lunch, drink, hat, sunglasses, swim suit if you would like top swim (no 2-piece suits), suntan and insect lotion
Friday Overnight: The Overnight is optional but enjoyed by most.  Bring a flashlight, personal items/toiletries, sleeping bags, ground cloth, sleeping mat or cot, insect repellent, your tent with mosquito netting.  You can also sign up to use one of the camp tents which are near the campfire but away from the rest of the Pack 175 tents.  Sign up and pay fees the week of camp.  Fees are typically $7 per person.  A form will be sent home on the first day of camp to sign up.  The overnight form is due back on Wednesday.
Trading Post:  The Trading Post sells ice cream, candy, drinks, camp T-shirts, souvenirs and is open daily so bring a dollar or two daily (optional).
Tag-a-longs:  Parent leaders (volunteers) can bring their younger children, no friends, $10 per day paid at camp, health form required for younger child as well which can be filled out at camp, come any/every day with parent leader, same items to bring as scout.  Tag-a-longs can do the same activities as the scouts except for BB shooting, archery and rafting.

Schedule Friday:  Leave CKS parking lot at noon. Parent camp leaders will drive. Parents take home scouts from picnic or stay for overnight. No returning carpool to CKS.

Friday Campfire:  The campfire is for everyone and starts at 7:45 and ends at 8:30. The Camper Overnight activities (hike/swim/smores) are from 8:30-11:00. Saturday breakfast 7-8:30.  You can get up, eat and leave as early as you need to.camp.
